Anyone successfully appeal a T30 rejection?

Hearing of successful USC appeals. Anywhere else?

not a T30, but Penn State - happens every year with full pay mid kids from our NJ public - parents call and whine and presto kid is in

Just saw something about this on a different platform.

Tulane, Emory, USC and one other school I cannot recall were listed where the practice is not that uncommon.

USC does not waitlist- just admit and deny in RD so they do take some students who appeal their denial. Not sure if there are any stats on what percent of appeals are successful? No other top schools usually allow for appeals because they operate waitlists so those students would be prioritized before any students seeking appeals.

DD successfully appealed USC. But they always give appeals spring admit. Ended up choosing Pomona off the waitlist.

Our private CCO does this for kids in bottom third of class, but for most of them you should’ve already submitted the appeal.

Or at the very latest do it by Monday. It’s usually two weeks after the decision date.

At our private someone appealed UTexas and is now going there.

What are grounds for appealing?

Years ago, my friend’s brother appealed to get into Cal (he already got into UCLA). I learned about this thing only then.

I think my high school BF appealed U Wash and lost. Had above average stats for admit but was white and full pay. Didn't matter.

Emory doesn't accept appeals at all. It says in the rejection letter that decisions are final.

This is a thing? Get rejected, ask for reconsideration, and the schools actually change their admissions decision? What is the point of the entire application process then? Sheesh!
