Infertility Support and Discussion
| So, I just found out Monday that I'm not pregnant after we tried with one of our three frozen embryos. I have a healthy 2 yo daughter and had no problem having her (with IVF - worked the first time around), but now I'm worried it may not be so easy this time around. I'm 36 now, was 33. How successful was anyone else out there with their frozen embryos. Also, we really only want to do one at a time b/c we don't want two more children but I keep hearing that putting 2 in together is better than trying 1 and then 1 |
| Mother of twins here, I highly recommend transferring ONE at a time even if it means doing multiple cycles because my babies were born at 32 weeks and had to spend 3 weeks in the NICU. |
| another mom of twins here -- I'd transfer 1 and 1 (not 2 during the same cycle). I've never heard of transferring 2 at once having better odds than the combined success rate of two single embryo transfers. |

moms of twins (transferred 2) and a singleton (transferred one) here:
transfer one! Having a singleton after having twins has been a walk in the park from pregnancy onward. |

Another mother of twins here. I wish I had a positive story for you. I did my first IVF when I was 30, almost 31, and got twins. We also were able to freeze 5 blasts. Two years after my twins were born we began doing FETs. We did three elective single embryo transfers with our frozen blasts and all of them were BFN. Then we did two fresh cycles (still only transferring one) and got pregnant with the second, only to miscarry. Now I am in the 2 WW for my final fresh cycle, where I yet again transferred one. As much as I want another child, I REALLY do not want a second set of twins.
If you have the money and the fortitude, stick with one at a time. I am a firm believer in only putting back what you are willing to end up with! Good Luck! |
