The perfect white pants?

I do love a pair for summer-
I usually have to toss them after a season because they get too stained to bear.
So I don't like to spend a lot of $$
Must not be transparent or translucent at all: I have my favorite see-thru white linen for around the house.

but no experience - are they completely opaque? How does one know from shopping online?

You can read online reviews/comments, but the only real way to tell is to order and try on. Make sure there is an easy return policy!

Throw them out? You can bleach white pants easily.

White jeans/pants/shorts are nice to own, but you really need to consider where you are going. To the park? Nope. Out for drinks? Good choice. I feel the same way about white canvas sneakers. If it’s raining, choose another shoe.
