Korea/Japan travel advisor recommendations?

Anonymous
We are looking to plan a 2 week trip to Japan and South Korea for summer of 2027 and feeling relatively clueless on the best itinerary. Any recommendations or a travel advisor that specializes in family trips to those countries?

2 weeks for both? We had to work to trim our Japan itinerary to two weeks.

Yes, we will only have 2 weeks total to spend in both countries.

We did this ourselves. 3 weeks. It’s not hard at all! Esp now with ai tools.

Two weeks is not enough for those two countries. We did two and a half weeks in Japan and a week and a half in South Korea and could have used more time.

I haven't been to Japan or Korea, but when I have chosen to use a travel advisor, I have had very good luck with the Conde Nast list of recommended travel specialists. You filter by geographical regions, so I'd filter to Asia and then look closely for those who specialize in Japan and/or Korea.

I'd pick one country. Trying to cover both in two weeks is too much to enjoy.

I think this is doable if you fly into Seoul, spend 5 nights, fly to Tokyo and spend the rest in Japan. Fly home from Tokyo. Or vice versa. What I mean is limit one country to a smaller area.

You didn’t specify a budget, but if you’re looking for more on the luxury end, and don’t want to/have time to plan yourself, I recommend Alchemist Travel:

2 weeks is fine. People are so silly. Just be sure to take melatonin and sleep on the flight there and stay up the entire first day. No naps.

Honestly, I’d just google (reddit often has good discussions on travel) and use ChatGPT.

This is so silly. Why are people so dumb?

You probably need to stick to Seoul in Korea. Don’t try to add Busan or Jeju.
