My 10-year-old loves to watch these YouTube videos instead of watching actual shows or movies. This is something that started in the last few months. I love the idea of her watching a show or series for the storytelling element, but she seems very compelled by call me Haley. Just to put it in context she’s a big reader so she reads a lot of novels and series, but she’s also physically active so it’s not like she’s sitting in front of YouTube all day every day. It’s just that this is her preferred choice of show that’s confusing to me.
Anyone else in this situation? What are your thoughts? |
| I don’t know that show, but I don’t let my kids watch YouTube much, if at all. It’s so hard to monitor, and there is so much junk. If that ship has sailed, I’d probably try to watch it with her, at least sometimes |
| I am in the same boat with an almost 10 year old. Also very active and a big book reader. I am a single mom and honestly have let it go. I only allow it on weekends. |
| My kids don't watch YouTube (except at school, blech). |
| Og here. To clarify, this is YouTube Kids. But yes even then I’m not thrilled though… it’s better than regular YouTube I think, and yes I do only allow on weekends and only for limited amount |
| No YouTube of any sort in this household either |
| Op - you don’t have to preface your YouTube question by listing all her strengths. The show sounds interesting. What’s it about? |
| It's trash and those youtube roblox gamers are just brainrot for kids, OP. She's not watching a show, she's watching someone play games on roblox. You shouldn't allow her to continue that habit. |
Why not she smarty |
