50 people camp food ideas

Anonymous
Can anyone share 50 people tent camping food ideas, breakfast, lunch & dinner for 3 days 2 night? I think there are around 25 kids and 25 adults approximately. Well, most are white, and maybe just a few minorities. We are minority, and we want to cook something that suit for everyone's taste. We have not decided if we should pick breakfast, lunch or dinner yet to help out.

Cooking over fire? Access to stove? Electricity?

No electricity. Only camp site grill (over charcoal) and I believe someone will bring portable propane gas stove, some pots and water.

Costco is your friend.

Burgers, buy patties already made, and buns, ketchup, etc. Salad in a bag, also baby carrots for the kids to munch on. Call it a night

Above is dinner. Breakfast, bagels and cream cheese, also strawberries (or whatever fruit looks good at Costco)

Lunch - cold cuts, make sandwiches, also baby carrots and fruit

All of this assumes mostly men and boys. If women, I'd plan more fruits and vegetables and less carbs

Pick breakfast: offer pastries, fruit, oatmeal, and hot cocoa / tea / coffee.

Or, pick lunch and do hot dogs + chips and raw veggies.

If you get stuck with dinner, tacos are a solid option.

Pack a cooler with cold cuts, bring bread and chips for lunch.

I can't believe all these people suggesting cold cuts for a 3-day trip. Yuck.

How far are you from civilization? Can you go into town and pre order a cateredd meal - breakfast platter of bagels and muffins, taco lunch, or pizza dinner....for example?

So no refrigeration?

How about nearby soap and water to wash hands - otherwise stay away from handling raw meat?

How big is this charcoal grill you mentioned upthread? Is there even enough surface area to cook, say hotdogs, for 50 people? Are people eating in shifts?

This very very much depends on your cooking setup.

Pasta (bring pot to boil water on charcoal grill).
Sauce (bring another pot to heat sauce on said charcoal grill).

Garlic bread (if you can keep butter cold).

Or go with a Cup of Noodles for everyone (but it's super salty and not very filling, but YMMV) since in theory you can boil water.

Chili and cornbread
Make ahead and freeze.
One batch vegetarian, one batch not.
Cook cornbread in cake or casserole pan and cut on site.

I’d be happy to have this for any of the three meals camping.

And 25 of the 50 people are hungry teens to boot! Surely, mutiny will arise. Watch out.
