The Testaments

Anyone watch? I’m hooked so far. And I love that Stephen Colbert was the announcer on Radio Free Boston.

Oooh no, I hadn’t realized it started.

Yes I binged all three episodes last night! Interested to see what they do with daisy since they’ve diverged from the book where she is actually Junes daughter Hannah.

Hannah is Agnes. Daisy is baby Nichole. Both are June's daughter. It's been a while since I read the book, but I'm pretty sure that's how it is in the book too.

Watched the first two episodes last night - I enjoyed them. I really like the girl who plays Agnes - she seems to have a good balance of maturity and spunk.

I'm in, enjoying it so far! Really like Agnes and the Pearl Girl.

Daisy isn't baby Nichole in the tv show. That's been confirmed by the showrunner and those who have seen the full season

Wow spoken so authoritatively and yet so incorrectly. The show runners have already stated Daisy is not baby Nicole and there is literally no way to make the timelines on that line up, because the show is picking up four years after the events of the handmaids tale show. The book was set 15 years in the future.

I liked the handmaids tale and I'm liking the testaments but god some of these scenes just make me burn with rage. Did you guys catch in the flashback where Agnes/Hannah's first "adoptive" mom in Gilead told her the children were "rescued from wicked witches" so that she could choose her and be her mom? So many parallels to the modern adoption industry where poor women are rented to be surrogates or coerced into giving up their babies to more "deserving" parents.

I watched the first couple episodes and I’ll watch the series, but none of the characters seem very compelling. It’s like a watered down copycat of the Handmaids Tale lacking the personalities of the original.

NP. You know that showrunners like to misdirect right? I believe they're being messy with the timeline because no one really cares and they want the sisters to operate as peers. June's description of giving the baby to the adoptive parents was very, very personal.

I feel confused tbh. Neither scenario makes perfect sense.

I really didn’t like the book at all. Is the show better? And I loved the Haindmaids Tale. It was one of my favorite books of all time.

You are a horrible person.

I’ve only watched the first episode. Really enjoyed it . It’s a lot like Handmaids Tale.

I can’t believe Daisy would be crazy enough to listen to electronics at night while in a room with other girls she doesn’t know yet. Aside from that, all good.
