Cold symptom meds and excessive dryness

I’ve caught a cold and took Mucinex over the past 2 days - I feel for the first time, incredibly dry skinned everywhere. I’m pretty healthy normally and am on HRT, early 50s. Is this a common experience? It’s new for me and I’m just assuming I should not use guaifenesim again. Just wanted to see if others have had the same reaction - I have not needed to take something for mucus in several years. If I posted this here in error, let it go and don’t derail, thanks.

Bump - anyone else experience this extra dryness because of a cold or cold medications? I’ve tried drinking lots of water and tea. Does not help yet
