College wants to see dedication and commitment for years. For kids that is indecisive, addicted to youtube and do not have any specific passion but open minded to take whatever interests that parents sign up, am I doing right or wrong that I keep signing them up with different things( not academic related or competition related) to see which one may click and push them to stay a bit longer?
Many friends tell me stories that how much their kids hate learning new language, new instruments or new sports at the beginning because it is not easy till they start to enjoy it. |
| Keep trying new things out until you get to something that sticks. For my DS, that wasn't until 7th grade. |

You might have better luck if your kid can try XYZ activity with a friend.
Fwiw, when your kid is in HS, being involved in a sport or theater or music is easier to do because it also means a huge part of their social circle. |
| Step 1 might be to eliminate youtube or similar screen activities. |
| I would continue having the kid try new things to find something s/he enjoys, but not because of college admissions. |
| youre a bum. My son is a neuroscience, piano double major. |
