Potty training regression in 9 month adolescent dog..

Anonymous
I thought our dog was potty trained..but yesterday she had two accidents. Granted..we have been relaxed about giving treats because we thought she was potty trained.. I immediately started taking her out more .. like every hour/two hours (at the protest of everyone in my family) and reinstated treats. Today..no accidents.

Anyway.. what has been your experience with potty training regressions. How do I go back to no accidents? How important are treats?

In my opinion it's not just about treats, it's also a out routine. Were you relax about dog's schedule lately?

I've never used treats to potty train, so you can go either way with that. The frequent trips to the yard are the important part. At 9 months old, though, check for signs that she is going into heat. If she isn't and keeps having accidents, take her to the vet as she may have a UTI

My puppy had a massive regression when we had the snowcrete. He was 9-10 months old. He went from 0 accidents to 0% going out to potty. It was awful!

He has done well since then, but he is still needing a belly band at night because he wets it once per week when he is in a deep sleep.
