Synthesis math - AI tutor

Is anyone using this? I have a 1st grade boy who is really struggling and generally has lots of issues staying focused. Gets frustrated very easily.

A friend recommended combining this with Beast Academy products. Has worked well for his boys and capturing their attention.

Would love to know more from others who used Synthesis.

Beast Academy requires students to do a lot of deductive and inductive reasoning. It’s a great program—for the right child. If a kid is struggling in math and doesn’t have patience, Beast Academy isn’t usually a good fit: Direct instruction tends to work better.

I am similarly skeptical about AI products. They don’t motivate avoidant, inattentive students. In fact, they’re often boring and demotivating.

Hire a tutor who is experienced with special needs. Also, get your child checked for ADHD. Low frustration tolerance, skills deficits in early grades, and struggling to pay attention are all warning signs.
