Has anyone worked for Kumon?

Did you have a good experience? Did you work independently before or after? I am looking to compare before going back to independently tutoring.

No, but I interviewed at Huntington learning once. This was maybe 10 years ago? But the 22 year old who interviewed me said, "Because you have a masters degree, we're pleased to be able to offer you $12 an hour". For real. Um, no. Even back then I was making $35 an hour doing private tutoring. I'm pretty sure Kumon offers about $20 now. Totally not worth it if you have a degree. They do charge families through the nose.

This is like a private chef applying to McDonald's and being appalled by the offered wage. Seriously, why did you even apply?

I applied because I didn't know they paid so little. Once I understood that, I said no thanks and found a better paying 2nd job.

DP but come on. Not sure where PP applied but ten years ago DC's minimum wage was $12. For a candidate with a master's degree, you'd expect them to at least go a few bucks above minimum wage.
