"Upgraded" was cute
"Elemental" for animated "The Idea of You" Stay away from The Materialists -- absolute garbage. |
| I prefer East Asian rom coms, because they have less overt sex scenes (or none at all), and lean more into the yearning. Korean rom-coms are famous, OP. The most famous one is Crash Landing on You, which is far more than a rom-com, but a whole thing about North and South Korea. The male and female leads ended up marrying in real life. I highly recommend it. |

The Ballad of Wallis Island.
It’s this British indie that’s sweet and funny. A rich lottery winner invites his now broken up favourite band, a singer songwriter couple, to his private island for a concert in order to get them back together. I know that sounds like a horror movie set up but trust me it’s very lite and sweet. The British sense of humour in its writing and acting helps. |
