What is the going rate for an experienced nanny?

What are you paying for and for how many kids? We will guarantee 35 hours per week, FWIW.

We pay $32 an hour in DC proper for a nanny share (so $16 per family).

I'd say the current competitive range is $26-$32 for your own nanny (1-2 kids) and $30-$35 for a share.

We are at $35 for 2 kids, and she's dropping hints about an increase. We also guarantee her more hours than we use most weeks.

Most nannies want 40 guaranteed hours.

We pay $28/hour for 20 hours/week in Bethesda.

I live in SoCal.

For one child the low end is $20-22/HR - mostly those just starting out w/little to zero childcare experience.

The higher end would begin at $25/HR and go up due to number of children, household responsibilities and of course experience.

Hope this helps!

nobody sane would work for $32 in a share when they can get 28-30 for one baby. $32 is SO underpaid.
