Best leagues for Elementary/Middler schooler to join (DC)

For schools that dont have interscholastic teams(some do like john francis); what are the leagues to focus on joining for competitive play during the school year?

Are you asking for a rec league or a competitive/AAU (your kid will try out) league?

More so good local rec leagues for skill development but interested in local non-travel focused AAU as well if thats a thing

For skill development you are better off finding a good small group to train with. A good trainer will assist with finding a good situation to for playing time experience.
