Roy Moore the Pedophile

Are the stakes for another Democrat lost election too great this time?

Let's be honest here.

Because a newspaper finally investigated rumors that had been around for years. Woud the WaPo have pursued it if he weren't running for office? No. Did the women in the story seek out publicity? No.

You keep trying to assert that the timing is scandalous, when you know it is logical. Accept that your guy is a creep.

But were you in a coma while your definitely not old and fat hero Donald Trump was shouting to lock Hillary Clinton up - and you were all creaming your pants over it? Now you're worried about rule of law and banana republicans?

I'm sure you can twist your tiny, addled brains into explaining how that was *totally* different.

Well aren't you charming? You must get all the girls!

I believe Trump was speaking of locking her up if, in fact, she committed crimes. I believe we who support him are speaking of due process and the fact that the Clintons seem to be above the law. These women are simply to be believed but the women who came forward about Bill Clinton? Nope.

It's not just about timing. Look the heading of this thread. Already tried and convicted a pedophile in your minds. If this thread started with .... Bin Ali, the pedophile, or Bill Clinton, the pedophile, Jeff would have deleted it, stating that there was no evidence either was a pedophile or changed the title to 'alleged'. And we have lots of people on this thread stating 'all's fair in politics' and 'due process is not necessary in politics', and advocating for a dishonest press.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand that way of thinking. I've always been a cynical person and perhaps I am simply wired to question everything, especially conveniently timed stories, where one of the accusers is a democratic activist who's worked for Biden and Clinton. And about an election that is very important to Democrats regarding the balance of the Senate.

Bullsh*t, and you know it. He was calling for her to be locked up right away - and his moron supporters ate it up. Now suddenly you care about rule of law when your pedo Republican is exposed for being what he is.

Anyway, like I said, the good thing is there is no pretending that Republicans are anything other than partisan hypocrites anymore. Hopefully you don't have a child anywhere near Capitol Hill if Roy Moore does get elected.

The timing is scandalous only in the sense this weirdo should have been shown for what he is much earlier .... kudos to the Washington Post for at least telling us now.

That is preposterous. Even with these revelations, the Dems have no chance of winning. This isn't a close election where revelations about Moore's predatory behavior will make an actual difference.

Your Democrat guy was 11 points behind.

He absolutely knows more women are out there in the wings -- why do you think there's been such a ferocious pushback on this story this week? They're trying to intimidate the others into silence.

Here was a very curious paragraph in the Post story:

“According to colleagues and others who knew him at the time, Moore was rarely seen socializing outside work. He spent one season coaching the Gallant Girls, a softball team that his teenage sister had joined, said several women who played on the team. He spent time working out at the Gadsden YMCA, according to people who encountered him there. And he often walked, usually alone, around the newly opened Gadsden Mall — 6 feet tall and well-dressed in slacks and a button-down shirt, say several women who worked there at the time.”

What that suggests is the Post found -- but could not report because they would not go on record -- softball players, YMCA users and mall visitors who were accosted by him.

Ok, NP here. I've been reading this back and forth with some interest and a lot of disgust, but this post takes the cake for gross assumption. NOWHERE in this paragraph is it suggested that the softball players, YMCA users, and mall visitors were "accosted" by Moore. You're spinning your hardest to make something out of nothing. You have no idea what that suggests, other than these people knew of Moore, were coached by him, and observed him at both the YMCA and the mall. Nothing more was stated or implied.

While the actual accusations from the four women are troubling (and unproven), those are entirely separate from your gross speculation and fervent wish that there will be more to come. I can't even believe there are people like you, so eager to fabricate something from nothing. Disgusting.

No, you don’t get to do that, pedophile lover.

In a news story where every word counts and is carefully scrutinized by lawyers, the inclusion of this paragraph was very telling.

You are now on record defending a pedophile. I hope you don’t have children. It is you who is disgusting.

Doesn't sound to me like you question everything.

4 women who don't know each other tell similar stories about Roy Moore. And don't change their stories or the details of their stories, over multiple interviews with a reporter. And their friends, and one of their elderly mothers, and an ex-boyfriend, confirm these stories.

You want to propose they are ALL lying because of their nefarious intentions about the election.

That is just not logical. You need to question yourself. Question why you think a 71 year old Republican grandmother is lying.

The only person in this story who has reason to lie is Roy Moore.

If you believe Moore’s denials, you have to believe that four of these women, with no evidence that they know each other or ever met each other, all decided to lie when the Washington Post showed up at their door, that they all spontaneously made up a story that they were able to recount in detail in multiple retellings to reporters over a period of weeks, and they all chose to make up similar stories about Moore’s sexual pursuit.

The angry statement from Moore called the women’s claims “completely false” but so far, no one has been able to point to any contradictions, incongruence, or demonstrably false claims within their stories. For example, if events did not occur as they describe, did Moore know these women? Did he ever interact with them? Was he not in the time and place they described in their stories? Did he ever have an interaction with them that would provide a potential motive to make a false accusation against them? Did he ever rule against any of them, or a member if their families or a friend in his years as a judge? If a part of the accusers’ story does not check out, it changes the calculus of this story. But so far we just have a blanket denial with no further details.

A variation of Occam’s Razor declares that the simplest explanation is the most likely one. You can either believe that Moore behaved in the way the women describe – accounting for any faults of memory in the forty or so years since then – or you can believe that they all chose, spontaneously, to partake in an elaborate conspiracy to destroy his reputation, an effort that they no doubt understood would lead to making enemies.

And what do these women gain from telling their Roy Moore stories? Money? No. Fame in a good way? No. There are zero benefits. Here's the creep's twitter: https://twitter.com/MooreSenate?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

That fool went to West Point and was stationed in Georgia and Germany before being in the military police in Vietnam where he harassed the soldiers forced to be in that ridiculous war. He was a frickin Lt Neidermyer from Animal House. 1978 film wildly popular. Granted Moore got college paid for but did that mean he had to harass and possible cause death/maiming of persons forced to go to Vietnam? Subordinates or even peers might have considered harming him?

Worst of all - electing a pedophile to Congress.

Pedophiles need love too. Maybe Jerry Falwell should send his parishioners' kids over there to comfort poor ole Roy.

Only the pubescent daughters!

Mama’s permission makes it all okay.

He groomed girls with single mothers. A dad would have put some buckshot in his ass.

This is what my rural Georgia born and bred DH said. That it’s a good thing that the dads were out and f the picture, because folks in the south have a way to take care of things like this. And Roy Moore is lucky— or chose his victims well. Because he did not end up on the business end of a shotgun.

It's only bulls*it if you think, like you do, that conservatives are stupid rubes. We are decidedly not. But keep living the fantasy.

Looks like the seriousness of the charge, not the evidence, is sufficient to convict Roy in the media. There ought to be a statute of limitations on these type of allegations.

You have no way of knowing what they gain. I do know that one of the accusers is a Dem activist - she's already been exposed. My guess is this was pre-planned between she and the WaPo.
