Book to get me back into reading

Anonymous
Hi - I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately- and I would love to get back into it. Can anyone recommend a book you just couldn’t put down or something that you love so much that it really got you back into reading? I used to really like memoirs, but I’m up for anything! Thanks so much!

A short book that got me back was The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. Ann Patchett had it as on of her Friday recommendations.

This was my favorite book of the past year. Maybe of the past several years.

Not sure I'd recommend it to OP though, to get "back into reading," given how long it is.

Thursday Murder Club! Light, funny, multiple points of view, and short chapters made it a quick and engaging read.

I like memoirs a lot too.

Maybe pick up some old(er) ones from your local public library.

Some good ones are The Glass Castle and if you like classic Hollywood, some Golden Age stars have written excellent books.
Lana Turner’s daughter wrote an interesting book regarding her childhood plus being acquitted of killing her mother’s lover.
Or a good juicy tell-all would be Mommie Dearest or even the one written by Bette Davis’s daughter.

These are so juicy.
Madonna’s brother also wrote an excellent tell-all about his sister which I could not put down until I finished reading it!
