endometrial ablation?

Anybody ever have this done (by laser or by hydro)? Curious as to how well it worked, side effects, issues I may not be thinking about...

I have a friend who had it done and she is now period free and loving it. I don't know which type she had. She highly recommends it. She had 4 children and had awful periods.

I'm seriously considering this. I've got aweful periods and I'm not allowed to use birth control pills or other hormone therapy due to another health problem.

From what I've read it sounds like a great solution. Almost too good to be true though so I'd love some feedback from others.
