I have the opposite issue. I've been constipated for the past few weeks. I actually do go every day, sometimes more than that but it is hard ball poop, a fair amount but I always feel a little bloaty. (sorry)
I work out every day, take a probiotic pill every day, eat tons of vegetables and beans. I limit the white carbs and cheese and drink lots of water. The only dietary change I've had is that I stopped eating the extra-hig fiber cereal in the morning and started doing Greek yogurt with some type of fruit. (berries, pear, pomegrante) and a little honey. Could stopping the high fiber cereal be the cause? I'm thinking I need to start eating the cereal again. Please give me your suggestions. TIA. |
| Are you menopausal, because you sound like me and that's what I'm blaming it on. My doc told me to use Miralax, and that I could use it every day for the rest of my life. I don't like the idea of that, so I may get another opinion! |
| OP here. I'm 42, definitely peri but not fully into that joy just yet. |

Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Lots of water, exercise and increasing fiber are usually all that's needed. Miralax (over the counter and very safe) for 2 weeks might be enough to loosen up and flush out any stool that's become (pardon me) like concrete in your gut, which will open up the pipes and allow the fiber and water to act as a sweeper in your system. If you do the miralax, however, make sure to up your water intake.
I'm not a GI, but I may as well be... |
