My DD has decided she wants to try improv. She hasn’t been involved in acting so I imagine she would try out a class before doing a drop in or try out. It seems there are two programs - one through Roundhouse (although she would be with adults as the teen to adult program switches at age 16) and one through Imagination Stage.
Any experience with either of these? |
| I Stage for a beginner then Roundhouse if she takes to it. See if I Stage is offering something for older teens. |

Yeah, it look like istage has a summer class for older teens. Roundhouse has the adult class but then monthly drop ins.
It looks like there is a troupe for istage but that is tryout based and she won’t be ready for that in July. |

Washington Improv has free sessions as well as classes.

| My teen did a week at Burke for a summer camp but it skewed younger even though it was 8th - 12th grade |
| Imagination stage for the first one - if they have one for teens. |
| Imagination Stage absolutely attracts a younger crowd. If your child is 11 or older, I'd choose Roundhouse or Lumina |
Washington Improv is 18+ |
