LOST DOG

LOST DOG! Our sweet elderly beagle Daisy escaped from our home in downtown Silver Spring late Wednesday night (3/18) and is still missing. She is a tricolor (black, white, and brown) beagle, with a mostly white face.

We think she is somewhere in Rock Creek Park, around Boundary Bridge and Beach Dr, or possibly in the northwest DC part of the park. The most recent possible sighting was on 3/25 near Forest Glen, around the Rock Creek Park trailheads in that area. We think she is using the park as a homebase and venturing out into the surrounding neighborhoods looking for food. Please reach out if you see a beagle or similar looking dog in that area!

If you see her, or any unknown beagle, please call Brendan at 646-520-7203 or Julie at 301-219-8324.

Thank you!

She does not have a chip, unfortunately. I'm unsure how to post images, this is my first time using this forum; if anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

This is OP. Unfortunately, Daisy is still missing, as of April 10. It's been three weeks since she escaped and we're desperate for any leads. We think she's trying to circle back home but hasn't figured out the right route yet. There was an unconfirmed sighting at Rosemary Hills Elementary School last week, which supports the theory that she's traveling in circles. Any possible sightings help! Thanks!

Do you want to post on ring neighbors? A lot more people will see it and help. Hope Daisy is safe and you can find her soon!

OP, this sounds crazy but I have heard of people putting blankets and other personal clothing items outside, because dogs are so attuned to scent, as a way to give them clues to return home.

I really hope you find her soon.

OP here, thank you all for the advice and support! We have a couple posts going on Ring Neighbors and we've gotten a few other people to post on there as well to try to expand our reach.

We actually have been putting clothes and blankets outside and in various places where we think she's been. We even put her crate with her toys and blankets in it outside. So far all we've attracted is a bunch of raccoons, but we're hopeful that we're laying some kind of scent trail she can follow back home.
