Cryopreserved embryos: "frozen" individually?

Anonymous
Hi all. I'm embarassed to say that although I tend to ask a lot of questions and research thoroughly, I forgot to figure this out. We had 5 good embryos we cryopreserved 2 years ago in a successful round of IVF. Do you think they were frozen individually in vials or 2 in one vial and 3 in another? I haven't gone in for a consult about doing an FET and I'll go in eventually or call to ask what they did in my case, but curious if anyone knows what's standard?

I think it can be done either way. Mine were frozen individually, but I have a friend whose embryos were frozen 2 to a straw. Sorry this isn't much help, but probably just best to wait and ask at your appointment.

I can only speak for my clinic (CFA) where my embryos are frozen individually.

My sense is that it's most common to freeze them 2-3 a straw.

SG now freezes individually, if that helps (but they are also fairly hard-core serious about reducing multiples, so that may be part of why).

Good luck.

Just call them, clearly it's different everywhere. I had two frozen, and they were separated.
