When is the best time to submit an letter of continued interest if you are waitlisted? I've heard some colleges can pull off the waitlist in April, well ahead of the May 1 due date. Our college counselor is telling us to submit the letter in early May. Has anyone else heard differently?
It couldn't hurt to submit now, then submit another touch base later. DD got offer from three waitlists (Ga Tech, NYU, Davidson), a few years ago, by staying in touch this way. If you get an offer you need to be prepared to pay full price and accept it on very short notice - like only two or three days to decide.
Around 3 weeks after notification (before May 1 ideally) but allow time to make the updates meaningful.
Do not submit 2 |
Only do it if you have significant updates
