Field Hockey - what's next?

Anonymous
My 12 yo daughter was out of town during Wash Wolves field hockey club tryouts. She's back at their rec clinics, but not happy. She's done these clinics for 3 years now and is ready to move on. The clinics include girls who haven't ever played before. What other options are there for real games in the non-club world?

There are other clubs besides wolves you could check out. If you really want to deal with this for this season still you could reach out to other reasonably local clubs and ask if they might still evaluate a kid for either their club or a development team.

What other clubs would you recommend?

Ask the coach for a make-up tryout date.

+1

I believe most other clubs already had their tryouts? But if she can tough it out one more season, there may be summer tryouts happening in June.

Other clubs - try Next Level and Koa

Make-up try out date is one option if you want the non-club route.

Beyond Sticks is a great organization that has weekend clinic and game options in NOVA and MD.

Next Level is also a strong club in the DC-MD area.

Def. email and ask for a tryout.

My DD did that with Next Level and they were open to it and made one of their teams. They are a strong club and we had a fantastic experience with them.

Other clubs:
-St. James (sort of new and working out kinks, still)
-Hammers
-Metro
-Nova Xtreme
-Beyond Sticks

DMV prime and the jackels both practice at stone ridge if the location is important to you.
