Sinners Sucked

The movie is just a black version of the Parent Trap with vampires.

Lindsay Lohan did it better and as a child.

Glad it did not win best picture

I didn't see that one but One Battle After Another was not good either: not great for cinematography or for editing ...and it won for that! Frankenstein also was subpar. I hated the doctor's character, and really all of the characters' lack of development. It looked "cool" to young audiences I guess but no heart or complexity. Bugonia? Had a fun reveal (office part) and great score but otherwise tv quality stupidity and that artsy grandiose shocking bit at the end to try and impress people. Just not a good year and hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Agree it was not a great movie year.

Wait, what? Sinners is not like the Parent Trap. :/

I liked it. It's way outside my usual genre, but I loved the music and I thought the acting and cinematography were very good.

Really hoping for a better choice of movies in the coming years! I didn't see anything other than Sinners!

Foreign films were good this year. OBAA wasn't PTA's best but it was solid. Clever satire, with some great performances and fun, surreal passages.

OP, I have no earthly idea what you are talking about wrt the Parent Trap. Nothing about these films is similar.

And I loved Sinners.

You are so offbase that you have to have an agenda or be trolling

I couldn't finish the movie. I was bored out of my mind...and I love vampire movies and suspense and plot twists. I didn't see any of those things. It reminds me of when March of the Penguins was out and everyone was raving over it. I watched the whole thing and it was the dumbest s h i t I ever saw and boring af.

I didn't think it sucked. It was decent, just a little odd how two very different kinds of films were merged into one. It was reasonably entertaining, I just did not find it Oscar-worthy.

Didn't see it but I did see One Battle After Another and Marty Supreme. I didn't think either of those were so great.

It was a weak year overall. So it was the best of the worst.

I liked Sinners but the final scene felt cheap and gimmicky to me. The rest of the movie is pretty awesome though. The music/dance scenes were incredible. I just wish it had ended one scene earlier without the flash forward.

My favorite movie this year was Sentimental Value, and I also liked Blue Moon. In general, I like smaller movies with a narrower scope that really dig into relationships and more everyday drama. I appreciate Sinners and One Battle After Another for exploring bigger themes and being really well executed, but that sort of movie will never be my favorite.

Marty Supreme was trash.
