Tucker on SNL

Anyone else find the timing of SNL featuring Tucker with an old school impression based on his Fox News days to be odd when he's a major voice on Iran these days?

The actor was great but something about it all feels off.

Totally weird considering his leadership of the opposition. Well SNL shows you who they are aligned with.

I honestly am not even sure what you are implying?

SNL is supposed to be an apolitical equal-opportunity irreverent humor show and people who work there claim that all political views are represented there but, please, anyone who has watched one episode can see who and what they prefer mocking.

I noticed this too. And thpught it was odd. It does seem like they were trying to trivialize or defang his current stances by focusing on trivial criticisms he himself focused on years ago.

I will also have critism of isreal, the gaza genocide, isreal's outsized influence on us foriegn policy is not antisemetic but some of this criticism veers into antisemitism when it moves from isreal to jews. Tucker does this move or at least highlights voices that do this move. How do you defang throuugh humor that move but not the valid criticism part. It's hard but this is what commedy is for and snl should figure it out.

Right but the point is that the stuff they were mocking is very dated, when he focused on frivolous cultural criticisms. He is actually a very influential anti-war voice right now. This timing feels like an attempt to dismiss him as not a serious person when he is actually making pretty serious claims and doing eye-opening interviews with Huckabee, Cruz etc (that people are free to debate and disagree with) that you don't hear on MSM.

It is odd that they chose now to satirize Carlson. For a show that reacts to politics weekly, why are they digging back over a year, right now?

Tucker is saying CIA is after him and his text message is been hacked.
