| Hoping ours addresses it; there is a big in person event that will release everyone to drive in the mix of it - worried about picking up my son, and worried about me getting home safe. I don't particularly want to ask anyone at work what the plan is but I was hoping they had a plan! |
| You need to take a mental health day. |
+100 The anxious need the people in this area seem to have to get off work in response to any potential weather is absurd. They clearly just hate their jobs and want any excuse to not go. |
+10000 million its insane. There are no less than 6 posts about this. |
Clearly, you've never been in traffic which took six hours to get home instead of 20 minutes! Damn fools! |
This. I have been stuck in my car and a tornado was a few miles away it was terrifying . DC people are such pretentious morons. |
|
No early departure at my work on 3/16, but I did get an automated notice to put away any outdoor things that might get blown away in high winds.
Weather.gov did not have any Special Weather Statement or any sort of Tornado Watch posted for metro DC as of 10 minutes ago. Not sure why all the anxiety -- TV stations trying to get people to watch? |
| I have in person meetings but i told my boss i will be leaving before the storms hit and will need to participate virtually the rest of the day. Shes not happy but understands. Guessing I'll arrive at 8am and leave around 2pm. |
| Mine is closed. |
| If the storm clouds are approaching, go home early. If they miss, stay at work. |
| Ha ha ha |
This. Ridiculous. Fairfax county feeds into it by closing three hours early |
| I work for DHS, so nothing. My supers are furloughed. The S1 is on her way out. I think I'll work half day, but change my mind in the morning. |
I think that's why they're doing this posting like this 100 threads same topic so they can force closures or make the country look bad. |
| Have you driven through or nearby a tornado? I have. It was terrifying. |
