Best CD rates or similar for 6 months

Anonymous
I have about $100,000 that I need to park for 6 months to a year (future house purchase). I have switched to CDs from Tbills since CD rates are about 4%.

Have you seen anything higher than 4%?

I have 4.1% but that is in a 9 month Cd.

Openbank HYSA is over 4% and Marcus has a CD that is 4%

Is Marcus trustworthy?

As much as any other FDIC-insured bank. It's a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs.

Anything FDIC insured is fine. Just stay under the FDIC limits.

I have had Marcus for years. No issues. Be careful with CDs though. Sometimes they automatically extend it at a much lower rate. So many old people get f**d like that. It should be criminal.

NP. AmEx is offering 4% for 14-month CDs. That seems like a good idea but am I missing something?

If OP thinks they might want to purchase the home in 6-12 months, wouldn't want to lock up the funds for 14 months.
