Orthopedic recommendation for teen

DD (16) fractured her wrist in 2 places yesterday and may need surgery. We are looking for recommendations of orthopedic doctors who specialize in the hand/wrist/forearm and who is good with teens. TIA!

Did surgery on my son’s wrist. Came recommended from a hand PT who sees outcomes.

Dr Richard Barth at Washington Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He only does hands, wrists, elbows and upper extremities. One of the top surgeons in the area.

These are all super helpful recommendations. I will begin calling offices first thing Monday morning — however I wonder if it is possible to get into any of these physicians within the week? DD is supposed to be seen Friday.

Dr Barth did my wrist 30 years ago - imagine he only has gotten better, and he did good back then

Montgomery orthopaedics offers same day urgent care appointments on week days and got me in with Dr. Solomon that day. Fantastic experience. He is very skilled and very personable. I’ve been able to book same day twice with that group as well for my accident prone kid.

My daughter broke her forearm, not a particularly complicated break. But Dr. Rozmaryn spotted that it was close enough to the elbow that the healing process could potentially pull the elbow tendon off track, causing it to dislocate inside the cast. We ended up modifying the treatment plan and doing frequent x-rays to check the position of the tendon as it healed.

It all turned out fine, no additional surgery needed, but we appreciated his experience and careful monitoring. His specialty is hands/wrists/forearms. He’s even done hand surgery on professional musicians.
