Pickup at National Airport

Anonymous
It’s been years since I had to pick anyone up at National airport, but Read that the Cell Phone lot is closed for now and they make it sound like it would be hard to actually pick someone up without parking in the garage. I don’t want to have to park and walk in, so am hoping for some advice for where to wait nearby and how to best designate a location to meet right outside of arrivals.

You can park in the garage for an hour for free. You can either treat that as a cell phone lot (wait there then drive to arrivals) or tell whomever you're picking up to walk to you. Or wait at the curb/circle around.

+ 1, or drive around the arrivals and departures several times until they come out of the terminal.

I've done this and it was fine. Last time I did it, the friend I was picking up had a delayed flight and I left the garage, did a loop around the airport and re-entered so that I had another free hour.

Either way, I just let the person make their way out to arrivals and then tell me where they are. I've always found that to be easier than me trying to tell them a place to go.

This or the McDonalds on 1 in cyrstal city. When you Exit McDonalds, leave using he rear entrance turning right on S. Eads, turn right on 23rd, then right on 1 and just stray to the right. This will put you on the flyover exit to National airport loop.
