This is absolutely ridiculous. The school is not even in the core federal area.
https://51st.news/dc-schools-federal-government-design/ "Members of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts appointed by President Donald Trump upbraided a team of architects working on a modernization of the 47-year-old elementary school at a meeting last month, declaring that the proposed design doesn’t comply with Trump’s 2025 executive order mandating that new government buildings adopt classical architectural styles." |
Like his ballroom addition? Or everything tacky he touches? |
I believe this is the same group who approved his ballroom addition. So, going to force DC to make government building design more gaudy and expensive, on the DC tax payer's dime? |
DP to add, including schools in areas of the city that no Trump administration folks ever travel to, or frankly, care about, except for this? |
| DC prefers brutalism. To encourage the working class. |
Paid Trump astroturfer here to promote government overreach? Go back in your hole. |
| Our First Lady is making DC beautiful, er tacky. |
Our First Lady Donald likes a mishmash. Like the ugly tumors gracing CCDC houses. There is nothing classical about his ballroom. It's a tumor. |
I am fairly certain that PP was a paid troll Trump admin astroturfer. |
No one pays me to criticize DC's love of big slabs of concrete. |
| Wait not an astroturfer but I do love architecture and even a great brutalist building done well. This is a whole thread about nothing. The CFA gives expert advice to DC. It is part of their charter. They endorsed many aspects of the project. They suggested changes which is what they do. And the "antagonist" served on the CFA under Biden. The ability to take constructive criticism is hard for many, especially in the design world. |
