Need EES in Europe

| Do US citizens need EES in March 2026 to enter European countries? I am getting conflicting info and some says that Apr 10, 2026 is the start date and others that it has already started. |

Do you mean the ETIAS?
https://travel-europe.europa.eu/en/etias As it says, not active until 4th quarter 2026. They have delayed it multiple times. I'll bet they delay it again and start it in early 2027. |

| Yes, but ETIAS and EES is different or maybe I am confusing them. Just want to make sure I have everything that is needed. |

Okay, yes the EES thing is in effect now, but it's just their new system for processing entries/exit, by fingerprinting and taking pictures upon entry, and then doing a picture again to confirm exit. There is no cost and you don't need to do anything in advance. |
