DC will be at sleepaway camp so we don't want to go too far just in case something happens so thinking within a 3 hour drive from DC. For a variety of reasons I need to take Wed-Fri off from work that week so we'd like to take advantage of it. Hoping to stay under $600 a night.
We looked at the Homestead but that's at least $900 per night so a little pricey. Any other suggestions? |
Berkeley Springs for secluded cabins, spas, quiet, hiking
Depends on what you want to do.
Cape May
I'd go down to Charlottesville. See some wineries and maybe hike, have a nice.l dinner at the Alley Light?
Stay at The Farmhouse at Veritas and eat at the restaurant. |
Dewey and relive your 20s.
Berlin/Assateague if you like the beach. Baltimore (maybe Philly) if you like cities.
Kennett Square, PA. Wineries & Longwood Gardens.
Omni Bedford Springs, with a side quest to Fallingwater.

Glen Gordon Manor is my go-to rec for these situations
Richmond or Baltimore. Go to a show, breweries, shopping. Maybe get a massage or go to a spa? Take the train and uber.
