| My kids both play competitive team travel sports but have gotten really into tennis and like taking it a few days a week when they don’t have other sports. I know tennis is a big one people go all in on. Tell me how often your kids take lessons and how often you think they need to go to see improvement. Thanks |
| How old are the kid |

It really depends on the age and goals of the kid. Once you get serious you start doing tournaments, you get a ranking, and are progressing through harder tournaments and better rankings. There is a lot of work to do before that though.
5 lessons / week for my kid. |

My 10 year old has found it fun to take occasional lessons and play with family/friends without competing. He also plays other intense team sports so doesn't really need nor have time for another thing. But in the summer he does tennis camp and in the winter we take 1x weekly lessons and that is enough for him to be able to pick up a racket and play for fun any other time in the year. I like to think in the future if he drops team sports he may have a basis to take on more tennis. Or maybe it will just be a fun thing like shooting hoops with friends randomly.
Just wanted to weigh in that its possible to keep a chill interest! |
| Girls tennis is much less competitive than boys. Hopefully you have girls |
