PPA vs DCSC?

Anonymous
Are there any opinions on DCSC vs PPA for boys U15 mls next academy teams?

Unclear how much we should think about travel time to practices, feel of the coaches just based on 2 tryouts, etc.

Thanks!

We are kicking the tires on both organizations. DCSC has been screwed by the Jelleff renovation. Both organizations have been open to us visiting practices so I would ask more questions of the coaches.

We are not in the U15 age group so no opinions on that.

You should attend a training with the coach and team (recognizing the composition may change) if at all possible. That helps.

What happens when the team only gives you 48 hours to decide? Do you just pay the non refundable deposit and try to attend trainings? This is for next year.

Our kids have played travel with both clubs. Definitely request more time if you need it: they should at least consider giving you an extension. We ran from DC Soccer when one team fell apart, and PPA isn't always much better. They seem to maybe run a little less lean than DC Soccer, but I think kids go back and forth between the clubs as friends and teammates come and go. PPA's App SUX!!! Both are fine.

Offers don't usually go away in 48 hours. At some point they will reach out and ask you to make a decision if you haven't communicated about wanting more time. They might at some point say they're going to move on without you if you don't make a decision. But sometimes the offer just sits in the app for months if you don't accept or decline. They just say 48 hours because they want to move the process along. You have to try to find a balance between taking some extra time without holding up the process too much. Be careful about accepting without reading the fine print. Most contracts say you have to pay the whole year.
