| Particularly for pre-med |
| It’s very popular with local Catholic school students. We know several kids who love it there. However my DC is turning it down because DC didn’t get any merit or financial aid there (and got lots of merit elsewhere). |
New poster. My junior loved Villanova when we visited. Can you share where he did get merit? OP, we have a good friend who loves it. He says that there is lots of school spirit. It think it's great size, with bright kids who seem pretty happy to be there. |

Villanova is on a major roll: they've recently acquired TWO adjacent campuses, have great programs, a fun basketball team, and a pope alumnus.
Acceptance rates have plummetted in the past decade (started well before the NCAAs or the pope), and it's harder than ever to qualify for merit. Most kids have been raised Catholic. Nice school! |

Nice school. Lots of investment in their campus, good spirit and becoming a BC alternative after a long history of being a regional school.
They will yield protect, think demonstrated interest and ED. |
At DS’s Jesuit HS there’s virtually zero overlap between BC & Villanova applicants. |
DP. FWIW, there is a TON of overlap at our Catholic HS. |
| It's a great school. Might skew a tiny bit more toward pre-law and business, but I can't say that for sure. |
They actually don’t track demonstrated interest. |
| Our DD was accepted but the price is hard to swallow without merit. |
| My DD loves it. We’re not Catholic. Perfect size. |
| Excellent school for smart, career oriented kids who like sports/school spirit. It has that great medium size that is difficult to find and the location is excellent, in a high end older suburb with plenty of local conveniences and easy rail access to Philly. Alum network is very strong in the region and it is a first choice school for a lot of kids. Not just a Philly area thing but now really popular in the NYC metro. |
| Ok I’ll be more real than the previous PP’s. It’s white wealthy and quasi smart but not nearly the top 5% of their HS’s. |
| Nice school but not a top level Catholic school. Also with a US News ranking of 57 lots of better choices. |
US news rankings aren’t really relevant to most kids. I believe Villanova and GW are tied for 57, but if you look at the academic stats of Villanova they are far stronger than GW’s. |
