Which laptop for SAT on Saturday

Anonymous
Do APS students arrive to the SAT testing location with their APS issued laptop or their personal laptop? I cannot believe how little information our neighborhood high school has shared about this, even though we feel "prepared" little questions like this confound me!

Obviously we have read the College Board site. I am curious what other APS families have done - personal or school laptop. We know the site says "bring your device, make sure the bluebook app is on it, it is charged and you have your college board email and password." When the kids did the PSAT everyone used their district issued laptop. So what do kids do for SAT? The same?

No you complained your high school didn't share this info with you. That's not their job, they don't administer the test, most kids don't even take it at their own school, and how does the school even know your kid is signed up? They don't.

That is fair. And yes, our school's college bound info is weak in comparison to our other student's high school.

Anyway. Welcome any input from APS families wrt which laptop.

I don’t even have a kid at APS but know it doesn’t have to be an APS issues laptop. That’s common sense. The SAT isn’t affiliated with the school. Anyone can sign up for any test site. You don’t even have to be in a public school or any school. You can be home schooled or not in high school because you are younger. Bring any laptop you want. This has nothing to do with your high school. Check the college board site for compatible device. Download what is needed ahead of time.

This was a 2 second google search. https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/device-readiness

I would bring a personal laptop because it does not have any firewalls

The school doesn't need to share this info, YOUR kid needs to read the instructions sent to them when they registered on the college board site. It clearly states the requirements.

Do you even have a teen who has taken the exam? You better have the right apps installed if you do this.....

Ops kid was not allowed to because he was late – as they could not decide which ID to bring.
