Taxes and the current environment

Finishing up my taxes and we owe this year which is not a big surprise as my partner made more being self employed than he has in the past. As much as I hate to see money go out of my account I understand the need to pay my fair share...
Except... I feel really horrible knowing this money is just feeding the current war machine and immigration raids and all of the other horrible things happening right now. I want to pay for health care, education, social services, but not this. I wish there were a way for me to be clear that I don't want my tax money going to this war. Anyone else struggling with taxes this year? |

| I feel this way all the time. My tax money never supports causes I feel good about. The amount of waste and fraud in our government is astronomical. The things I care about are under funded. Its a total farce, taxes are awful. |

| It’s always been like this. The government uses tax money for everything. Just use your imagination and think of your actual dollars to going to something you like. 😉 |

| Well you cant control where your taxes go, but there are plenty of charitable organizations to fund these services for people that need them. |

| We are getting a $10k refund this year because of BBB. And usually I get annoyed that I'd rather just be taxed and funds be used for helpful services. But this year I'm ok with it and will take the $ and spend it in my community. |

Just wrapped up our taxes and we made a little more than last year - almost $150k!. Our overall federal tax rate inched up from 13% to 15% with one more kid out the door. Still, 15% is lower than a lot of folks.
I was born the same year we entered the Vietnam war so being annoyed at how my tax dollars are spent is just the way it's always been. The only sunny side is that I know our piece of tax revenue buys only a fraction of one bomb. |

| Filed back in January still no refund. First delay was an identity verification. Completed it right away and now hearing word that 1 million returns are being held for a CP53E notice... a notice that has never existed until this year.:: AND they don't tell you right away. I feel like this is all intentional ... very anxious about all of it. War, no tax returns, fleecing of America |

| I am a low earning single mom and I got back 6k+ which I didn’t even pay (credits) so thank you for sponsoring me. I put them into my Roth IRA. So it’s not all doom and gloom and funding the war machine |

No we don't. Look at how many people are against war and look at how many of the house and senate reps have voiced against it. |

We have a two party system who both spend our taxes in ways I dont agree with. So not i cant. |

I think people forget we make weapons etc. if we never use them they eventually just get decommisioned so either way we pay for them .
We are just speeding up relacement time right now. |
