Confirms my thinking that MCPS isn't as great as it thinks it is.

Maryland doesn't look bad, compared country wide. MCPS doesn't either. |
That all depends on what states you are comparing it to.
This is what strikes me: State expectations for students The national test uses a common set of metrics for students in all states and sets a high bar for student achievement. States' expectations and standardized tests vary greatly. Compared to the national test, Maryland sets a much lower bar for student achievement. Compare to this (for example): The national test uses a common set of metrics for students in all states and sets a high bar for student achievement. States' expectations and standardized tests vary greatly. Compared to the national test, Massachusetts sets a similarly high bar for student achievement. |
Why are people obsessed with rankings? What is the end goal in education? If your child does well, you want them to do better, if they get into Dartmouth, you want them to go to Harvard,
If you don’t think the school here are good enough for you then move. I am convinced parents just want there kids to go to good schools so they can mention to others where they send their kids. Get over it already |
I looked through some of the data, our schools seemed to show up pretty well actually. I don't think the website proves your point, OP. |
