Anyone have experience with special ed services at Robinson Secondary?

We are in the first year of an IEP, and the meetings we've had haven't been as productive or helpful as those with our previous team last year. I'm getting a little concerned. Apparently the administrator in charge is new and has a reputation for not honoring IEP's at her last job. I am not that familiar with this whole process myself, so I don't know what to think.

High school or middle school? We've only dealt with it at the middle school level and it's been okay. Not terrible but not great. We do have a fairly minimal IEP though.

It is high school.

- sorry, meant to say this is OP, and the level is high school.

The high school special ed program is not good. I know quite a few families where the students needed more and the school refused. You will need to get the Procedural Support Liaison involved and if that isn’t enough, reach out to the director of special education at Gatehouse, the region executive principal, or your school board member. It will not get better.

One parent I know got her child switched to Woodson, and after her first IEP there, she said, “At Woodson, they really know my kid and what she needs in order to be successful!”

Robinson is great with most gen ed and advanced kids, but their special ed is not great. Too many teachers who don’t really know what they’re doing and are unwilling to change.

Woodson is not good so Robinson must be terrible.

I feel like that is the bar in FCPS...."well that school is not as terrible as that other school"
