| I don't get it. Too noisy to do work, kind of dirty as no one cleans it up. Nothing appealing. I just order online and leave |
| At the 3 Starbucks near us, I only see very old people sitting down. Usually in groups. I think it's their social outing for the day. |
| The one I go to isn't dirty. I'll have a seat when I'm with a friend and chat awhile. |
|
OK? I’ve met people there for work conversations where we don’t want anyone we work with around. I’ve waited with a coffee while I went over my notes ahead of an interview. When I worked near K Street I used to meet friends who worked at other organizations nearby for a coffee rather than a long, expensive lunch.
Don’t worry about it. |
| I don’t like Starbucks in general, but I can’t imagine feeling the need to pose this question. |
|
Who are the people who order from Starbucks? Nothing there is all that appealing.
I guess everyone has their thing. |
| Why do you buy drink and food from a place you think is dirty? |
Isn't it amazing how people make different choices than you do? It's almost like you're not actually a main character in anything! |
|
Good for you? Why do you care?
It heartens me to see people sitting with other people in real life. The internet will be our demise. |
| DC has practice nearby and sometimes I will go sit there as opposed to my car if there are no errands to run. |
Seriously. |
| I can't believe you get your coffee from a dirty starbucks. You think the employees who clean up clean the equipment they use to make your coffee? |
| Who in the world pays $7 for shitty coffee, whether you sit down or not? |
| Dirty, bad coffee, union busters. I never go to Starbucks; there are so many local coffee shops. Do better. |
| Back when Starbucks was going for the “third place” vibe with comfortable seating I would regularly meet friends there for coffee and a chat. Didn’t always want to commit to the time and expense of a full meal plus the timing is more flexible. I stopped going when they ditched the cozy leather chairs etc. in favor of hard metal seating. I assumed they were trying to deter people from camping with their laptops all day but I agree it’s no longer a pleasant place to hang out for 45 minutes or so. |
