What flats are we wearing to commute this spring?

Anonymous
I've been WFH since the pandemic up until December of last year. I've been wearing a nice pair of leather weather-proof boots (either brown or black depending on the outfit, both from La Canadienne) all winter long and they've worked well but now that it's starting to warm up starting to think about my footwear once again. I am commuting in NYC with a fair bit of walking and train-riding so need something comfortable enough to walk over a mile in but stylish and office appropriate.

Are we doing loafers? If so which do you recommend for walking?
Ballet flats? I know this is what I wore pre-pandemic, but now that I'm older I'm hesitant to go there again...

Prefer flats as I don't want to tower over my boss in heels and again, older and haven't done this in 6 years!

Thanks!

I still wear Rothys. You may need more support, but my feet like them as is.

Taos Chit Chat flats.

Nice leather, cushioned footbed with some arch support.

I commute in sneakers and change into flats or heels once I'm in the office.

I love flats from me too! They are my go to brand and I used to wear them when I commuted on the metro and did a lot of walking

This. I wore Keds and kept 3-4 shoe options in my office.

Some of us have actual things to do besides shopping constantly.

I bought these in a few colors. Surprisingly comfortable. Great for walking around NYC. The only issue is that the sizing varied a bit from pair to pair. I normally wear 8.5 in flats. All the 8.5 were perfect except one, which was a little too big. Easy return.

She needs a pair of shoes for work. If you don't like the ask, don't click on the question. You must be a very unhappy person.

Can you get away with low profile, neutral sneakers for both commuting and work? That's my current strategy but my workplace is business casual.
