smoky air today?

I live in Silver Spring and the air smells strongly of smoke. The air quality is 50, which is "good", yet my throat and eyes felt irritated on my walk this am. I cut it short. Does anyone know what is causing the smoke?

Pollen.

It was pollen. Nothing was burning.

My chest is tight, I’m coughing a lot and I am slightly nauseous. I hope it’s just pollen.

Where are you checking the air quality because some sites say its green and others red? It's been poor air quality (yellow and orange) here lately.
