FVU feeder clubs and "dual rostering"

Anonymous
So multiple clubs theoretically "feed" into FVU (I know it's marketing). Do RL players from the feeder clubs ever get realistically considered for opportunities with FVU in terms of dual rostering/training/guest playing? Or is this just something that FVU says they do without ever actually doing it? And if they do look at some RL players, do they give primary consideration to certain feeder clubs over others? It seems like the FVU leadership is tied to BRYC and VYS but other clubs are not similarly represented.

See the Arlington RL chat on why RL won’t move up. It’s not realistic.

No one moves from the Reject League to the NL, even at FVU which is already the home for remedial players. If your kid is RL you should figure out how to enjoy the fruits of mediocrity like not traveling every weekend, having a kid with real friends, and a parent group that loves wine from a box.

So if an 11 year old can’t make it to ECNL they are stuck in RL the rest of their playing years? No upward mobility? I hate this sport.

We are at a so-called "feeder" club and Inhave never heard of anyone being "dual-rostered" with FVU.

We play for a VYS RL Phoenix team. We have known lots of dual rostered players over the years (6?). A few have gotten FVU offers, including 2 for this coming fall.

We play with and against plenty of former ECNL players. I see the top 25% of RL players and bottom 50% of ECNL players as pretty indistinguishable. Due to this fact, I agree that you don’t see a ton of movement within clubs.

Nope, not at all, but they're pointing out you generally have to switch clubs to move up.

I think bryc and vienna rl teams are treated differently then the other feeders.

When we were at Valor, boys side, never heard of any dual rostered players.

coooooold blooooded

But accurate. You aren’t missing much. And have never seen an RL player come up to NL. Which in hindsight may have been needed with FVU NL program. Your kid may have saved a team from a sub 500 season.

Well, for starters at FBU the ECNL team has a completely different uniform than any of the theater clubs and so it would actually be hard to even dual roster or have someone guest play because they don’t even have the uniform. Versus Arlington or VDA where at least VSA has VDA uniform and Arlington RL has the same uniform as the Arlington NL team.

*feeder* clubs not theater

Clubs always hold extra guest uniforms for guest playing so that shouldn't be a game stopper, but in general I doubt many feeder club players are getting a serious look. Better chance of hitting the power ball than getting a spot on ECNL from the club's RL program.

the ECNL teams carry 20+ regular players on their roster and can only dress 18. Its not likely they are pulling up RL kids as guest players or "dual rostered" players.

They do DR players, but it's really training only.
