When they laugh on SNL

I love that every time Ryan Gosling hosts the cast breaks down laughing. Last night’s episode was so much fun.

I like it when it’s once in a while like the old Debbie downer sketch at Disney world.

I feel like last night’s with Ryan gosling was every single sketch.

Even Mikey Day, who used to keep it pretty together, has been breaking in every scene lately.

It’s just too often, and it becomes unfunny. The writing is already pretty mid, so when they break it doesn’t add to it, it just reminds me that they’re laughing at some inside joke that isn’t actually funny.

The show is so old and stale. Wish they would cancel it already and put it out of its misery.

Last nights show was the first show I've found funny in a long time. The breaking was hilarious.

I thought you were going to be talking about the shrieking laughter that comes from the audience of all these live shows. What's the point of having a live audience if you're doing to pay people to shriek with laughter? I feel like a dunce watching whenever that happens. So fake. Just tape it in the studio and use canned laughter.

It went through a low point but I think it's much better now. I don't understand why they need such a humongous cast tho. Who are those people? Some of them are just duds. Why are they in the lineup?

Agree. It's one thing when the content and fellow performances are truly funny and they break. When neither are that great, it's just annoying.

I haven't seen a brilliant sketch in some time, but maybe I am pining for the old days (late 90s/early 00s) like a crotchety old lady....

The one last night with the kids passing notes in class was hilarious. They were laughing because the jokes in the notes were different than the ones rehearsed, so the actors were reading them for the first time.

I think it’s cute when they laugh. It makes everything better and sometimes rescues really terrible skits.

Loved last night's episode too. Ryan Gosling is so charming and clearly loves to make people laugh. While I generally agree that constant breaking is annoying, I was grateful for a tiny spot of joy last night when the rest of the world feels so dark.

Haven't watched last night's yet but he always makes the strongest people break on the alien encounters. In the second one Kate gets him laughing. I think they all must have bets:

WHY is breaking annoying?

What are we expecting?

Hasn't it always been operation mockingbird? It obviously doesn't exist to make money, just an intel front to push narratives.

I posted the youtubes. I don't know why breaking is annoying. I personally love it. It makes me feel like I'm in on the joke and we're all enjoying ourselves.

In theatre there's "muck-up matinees" where everyone tries to do crazy stuff without losing the plot. Remember that these are all theatre kids having a great time. I'm not sure why everyone takes them so seriously.
