What is the consensus on which brand is more accurate?

The only one that works for be is the clear blue easy digital used first thing in the morning. Expensive, but works.

The best ones for me are cheapies - the mid-stream ones from early-pregnancy-tests.com. I used a cheapy and a First Response stick this month to test just to make sure I had my surge confirmed, since the sticks are sometimes hard to read. The cheapy showed my surge clearly and FR never quite had the matching line! (I even tested twice in one day) I also like that I can test 2x a day with the cheapies and not feel like I am spending a fortune.

CBE digital with the smiley face did not detect my surge on my cycle for Cornell. I was sorely disappointed, as I bought them to insure I would know when I surged! I find the cheapies to be the most reliable, as I have never had a cycle where they didn't do their job.

First response worked fine for me. The Answer test strips (come 20/pack, I think), are terrible - I never got a positive (and I know I ovulated).

I'm one of those rare ones maybe who did consistently get a pattern with the Answer strips (I used the 7 in a box one).

I think Clear Blue Easy with the smiley face is more satisfying (if you can get the smiley face) because it feels more definitive. You're not trying to interpret the darkness of a line. On the other hand, my nurse at SG said a lot of people don't ever get full on positive from OPK's and that is when the line OPK's are more helpful. Women always have a certain level of LH in their urine - that is why they tell you to wait until the lines are exactly the same darkness or the test line is darker than the control line - to insure it is your actual LH surge. But some women never get a high enough surge for the test line to turn dark. So interestingly enough, my nurse said that if the test line turns darker than it was before -- even if it's not as dark as the control line -- that can serve as a positive. So I'd say Clear Blue Easy OPK's if you can get positives easily -- two line OPK's if you have a harder time.

You mean the smiley face one or are you talking the monitor? I thought you weren't supposed to use FMU?
