Should I sell vxus?

I have VT in my IRA like JL Collins. I bought some VXUS in my brokerage. But after the Iran war, tariffs, Trump admin has me scared and wondering if I should just keep my brokerage account in US equities like VTI.

I definitely would not sell. I am not betting on American exceptionalism anymore.

In my brockerage account, the only moves I'm making is buying VXUS on a DCA basis. As a percentage of my defined contribution/IRA accounts and transactions, VXUS is a small holding. My defined contribution/IRA accounts are very focused on US equities.

We have 20% vxus. But we keep in 401k and Roth. I read somewhere that vxus is not good in taxable account because you can not claim foreign tax at tax time. I don't know if this is true or not. I am not selling my vxus.

How old are you? Did you make a long term plan? Stick to it.

VXUS? Yeah that’s cool and all but you should be buying straight up VWO, EWY and FLKR fo international. Why make like 15% growth a year when you can make 55%?

You have it reversed. You can claim foreign tax credit in taxable brokerage only. Not in tax-advantaged.

Sorry a stupid question - what is “foreign tax credit “?

Responding to OP, I didn’t sell VXUS. I think there is a good potential for a come back as they have no choice but wrap up the war asap because of the midterm year

I bought a little bit EWY yesterday . It was a historical drop not seen since 2008 it’s a day to go shopping

I do think we might have some midterm volatility in US stocks that may catch the infection . So I only hold high quality dividend ETFs for US and avoid QQQ etc.

But 70% of my holdings is in treasuries. I’ll be just adding when each red day happens over the next few months

Zoom out on those graphs and look at 1yr, 5yr and max. The picture is not as clear as you're claiming.

How long are you holding these? EWY and FLKR are similar so I have only one.

DP. Both these look like a tulips chart. I'd get out on the next bounce.

NP: Oh come on, it is easy to make 55% a year with no risk.

I’m less than 2% down for the week which is pretty meaningless for the whole portfolio eg I simply went back to early January levels .
