I’ve come to realize that I lump Atlanta Olympic bombing, Unabomber arrest, Princess Diana’s death, Andrew Kunanan/Gianna Versace, Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton scandal and JFK Jr.’s death all in one time period.

Not me, as I graduated HS in 1997, and was in full college party mode in 99. Those events were in the background not the forefront. The privilege of youth.

I lump 2005-2019. One big blur. And everything before that lumped into a different blur.

I lump 2016-2019 into one lump except for some great trips.
2020 to now are a covid blighted lump now Trump lump.

It’s 2011-2015 for me. I had to create a specific timeline for something legal/financial and I couldn’t piece together my own life events during that time, let alone remember what happened outside of that. I ended up searching my Gmail and was really surprised to find recollections of certain events to be 2-3 years off. I didn’t even have kids yet so I can’t blame them.

Luckily 1996-1999 is quite vivid and defined. Those were good years.

I mean, hell, I lump the entire decade of the 90s into one big blur in my mind. A big blur of Radiohead, ugly shoes, drinking coffee in cafes at night, and bad decisions.

Columbine is probably second in my mind of those years behind Clinton, followed by Atlanta. And I’d probably hedge a little and include 1995 for the OKC bombing and the OJ trial and likely I’d also meld the Nancy Kerrigan thing in 1994 and the OJ chase in 1994. But those were my high school years so they all seem like one big blur.
