| Just got the email from Camp Netimus that they are shutting down operations. I had booked my 11 y/o for this summer and now need a replacement. Camp Letts, where we used to send her, is full. Looking for a well rounded low key sleepaway camp experience. Thanks in advance!! |
| In the same boat!! So disappointed. I looked at the camp they recommended with “similar values” but it looks even more rustic (oldest campers sleep in tents, basically) and doesn’t have horse riding. |
| Also after this experience I’m a little wary of sending my daughter to another small independent camp that could close down at any moment |
| Camp Timber Tops is all girls and not to far away. Will be less rustic, though. |
| Ugh. I’m so mad at the Netimus directors who (imo) drove it into the ground. It could have been amazing and as successful as its brother camp. What a waste. |
I talked to them today...it's definitely more expensive/less rustic! Also they said it's a "culturally Jewish" camp - we are not Jewish, does anyone have experience sending a non-Jewish kid there? FYI, my daughter will be a rising 7th grader this summer - Timber Tops said they have 16 girls signed up in this age group for summer 2026 currently, and 14 of them are returning campers. I suppose that will be the case for most camps, but it sucks for my daughter. |
Say more! We had only been there for one summer so didn't have much experience. I found their email so vague..."a series of unfortunate events"?!? |
| Hi Netimus families. I'm Rachel, an Assistant Director at Camp Timber Tops down the road and I'd be happy to answer any questions. We more more space in some age groups than others, but I'm happy to connect! rachel@timbertops.com |

Sorry for the typo. We *have more space in some age groups than others.

Hi! Rachel here, Assistant Director at Timber Tops. I just want to clarify - we have many more than 16 girls in the rising 7th grade age group. I think the confusion might be that there are 16 girls signed up for just the first session, with many others staying for the full session. There are about 40 rising 7th graders at camp first session. Happy to chat more with anyone who is interested! rachel@timbertops.com |
| Very sad to hear (my kid has gone there for years) but they have had some tough years particularly after Covid. |

Camp Twin Creeks in WV is wonderful. It has all the traditional camp activities, 4 hours away in the Allegheny Mountains near border of WV and VA, and they provide transportation from Reston to the camp and back if you want to take advantage of it. My favorite part was no cell phones - a nice break from technology.

Hello Netimus Parents,
My name is Matt Buynak JR and I work with Lake Greeley Camp which is not all that far from Netimus in Greeley, PA. We are very sorry to hear about this situation as its been a neighbor for as long as I can remember in the region, and I've been pretty born into the camping space. I offer this post purely as Lake Greeley is still accepting and can be an option, or as assistance in exploring other summer options for your family in the area. Looking for more? Feel free to email at info@lakegreeley.com. Good luck to everyone and I wish the best. Take care. |
Hi! Would you be able to forward the email to me? |
| I worked at Netimus and I’m so sad about learning this! Echo Hill is similar, except for the bathroom and shower situation. It’s more rustic but it’s a great place to go! |
