How many days for Cape Cod?

Anonymous
We’ve been to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket previously but never stayed in Cape Cod.

How many days would you recommend?

Towns you love?

Depends what you want to do. Just see it? 2 days would be plenty. Spend time, hike, bike, relax, you could easily spend a week or two there.

I’d say a week. If you want to do anything you need time. Bike trail is great. Beaches awesome. Shopping small towns. Good food. Whale watching. National seashore visitor center. Checking out state parks. Evening walks on beaches. See a few they are all different.

I agree with a week. I love Cape Cod.

5 days. It’s fun to explore the different towns.

My extended family of 12 rented a house in Harwich Port, Cape cod a few years ago for 1 week. It was great, we did whale watching too and saw a minor league baseball game.

Here’s the site we used to book the house:

14 days at least. What's the rush?

DP. Most people have jobs

I love Falmouth! Shining sea bike path, adorable town center, easy to access all other parts of the Cape.

In peak season you typically have to rent a house for a week (Sun-Sun or Sat-Sat). I like to go for two weeks but one week is ok too. I like Orleans because I like the ponds and the bike path plus being near the bay and ocean.

…or stay in a motel.

That’s not a typo: MOtel, not a fancy hotel.

My kids were shocked when we pulled up to a legit motel in Cape Cod. It wasn’t cheap either. We were “one and done” with Cape Cod. We found everything to be crowded, long waits at restaurants, and the beaches weren’t great. Plus: sharks.

PS - I was shocked by the people watching. Lots of tank tops and tattoos on loud, aggressive people with Boston and NY accents. We saw drunk couples fighting at fancy restaurants.

Let me guess- Hyannis? It's a pity that's where you went when there are so many other lovely towns.

Agree with a week. I prefer the bay side, Dennis beaches specifically, better for swimming. Rent a house because the restaurant scene isn't all that.

It takes about 3 hours to get from the bridge to the tip of Provincetown. You don’t to rush around, I’d take 7-10 days.

Most of those motels off Route 6 are not fancy. Did you not research the area? There’s Chatham Bars Inn, a Five Star resort, The Mansion at Ocean Edge, Provincetown has many small 4 star hotels.
